EFT stands for Emotional Freedom Technique and it is an energy therapy technique developed by Mr. Gary Craig for releasing mental energy blocks by tapping on the acupressure points on the body. EFT is based on the discovery statement that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body's energy systems, which then creates various physical manifestations in the body. such as chronic pain, rashes, etc. or mental conditions such as phobias, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, addictions, etc.
EFT has been shown to alleviate such conditions by addressing the underlying mental and emotional causes of the condition rather than suppressing the symptoms with drugs or surgery.
At this time please take a moment to read the disclaimer before continuing.
Most people are familiar with acupuncture, which is based on the same theory, that there are energy channels (meridians) running throughout the body like rivers of energy or energy pipes, and these meridians can become blocked for one reason or another which is like putting a dam on the energy "river". In acupuncture needles are inserted into the body to release these blockages but in EFT the tip of the fingers are used to gently tap on these special acupressure points while focusing on the problem, to reset the energy system and promote the free flow of energy. The result is improved physical and mental health and well being.
The amazing thing about this technique is that it is very easy to learn and anyone can do it by themselves at home, and it is also very effective.
Here is an introduction to EFT by founder Gary Craig:
An other great principle that EFT draws upon is the immense power of Love and Forgiveness in healing basically any condition you can think of. The interesting thing is that for many of us the hardest thing may not be forgiving others as one would think, but forgiving ourselves.

Please note: EFT techniques have been found to be safe and non-intrusive, and participants almost universally feel a greatly enhanced sense of well-being. However uncomfortable emotions may be triggered -- these are usually cleared quickly and easily with continued tapping, leaving you free of the former discomfort and the limitations associated with it. However, you must take responsibility for your own well-being if you choose to actively participate in EFT exercises.

Until then here are the directions for a basic EFT session:
First I’ll list the points that you’ll be tapping on and then I’ll go over the procedure. For a visual illustration of these pressure points please see the figure at the top of this page . First one is point A, the Karate Chop point. This is the fleshy part of your hand between the end of your little finger and your wrist. Point 1 is the starting part of your eye brow, just above your nose, a little to the left or right. Point 2 is the side of your eye. Point 3 is on the bony part just below your eye. Point 4 is under your nose and above your upper lip. Point 5 is between your lower lip and the tip of your chin. Point 6 is about 1 inch to the left and right of the U-shaped part where your collarbone meets your sternum. Point 7 is under your arm, about 4-5 fingers below your arm pit. Point 8 is on top of your head and slightly to the rear.
In each session you need to pick up an issue that is bothering you to work on. For this example let’s pick a “head ache”. For your own record, rate your head ache on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the most intense. Then you take the 4 fingers of your dominant hand and start tapping on the Karate Chop point of your other hand while repeating the “set up” phrase 3-5 times. The format of the set up phrase is as follows: “Even though I have this head ache (or the name of any other condition that you are working on), I completely and deeply love and accept and forgive myself.”
Next start tapping 7-10 times or for the duration of one full breath on each of the points 1-8 while focusing on the head ache and saying various phrases such as: “I have a head ache”, “my head hurts”, “I have pain in my head”, etc. Use one phrase per pressure point and use the tip of your index and middle finger to tap on it. I recommend that you keep tapping on each point for one full breath instead of counting how many times you have tapped on the point. That way you can focus better on the issue.
For the next few points repeat the set up phrase or variations thereof such as: “Even though I have created this head ache in my experience, I completely and deeply love and accept and forgive myself.” Then for the next few points assure yourself that it is safe to release the pain: “It is safe for me release this head ache”. Then continue tapping and release the pain for the next few points: “I safely release/let go of this pain”. By this time your pain should be drastically reduced. After you have let go of the pain say a few positive affirmations while tapping for the next few points. Examples of these are: “I appreciate my healthy body”, “I welcome joy and health in my body”, “I love the way my body feels”, etc. Finish at the point at the top of your head and take a deep breath and allow the feeling of joy and health to spread throughout your body.
If you still have some pain left at this point, you can continue the procedure over again from the beginning.
Pay attention to any underlying thoughts or feelings that come up. You may need to address those with EFT as well. The most important things is to dig up the underlying thoughts or emotions that are creating this condition. Once you discover and resolve those, then the physical manifestation of those emotions will also disappear.
I will soon add a video here of this entire procedure. To be notified when this video is added, please join my family.
EFT FAQ:
Which side of the body should I tap on?
It's not important which side you tap on first or whether you do both sides at the same time, or one after the other, or only one side. When you tap on one side, both sides with get activated.
Should I use the tip of my fingers or my finger pads (the part that is used for finger printing)?
You should be using your finger tips as they also have pressure points. That way you'll receive double benefit. If you have long finger nails, then you can use your finger pads.
How hard should I be tapping?
You should tap solidly to the point that you can feel it. In other words it should be more than a light touch but not so hard that you hurt or bruise yourself.
Should I remove my watch and glasses before doing EFT?
Yes, it is recommended that you removed them because they can mechanically and electromagnetically interfer with doing EFT.
